Tales of Symphonia: Amnesiafic zomg
I express an interest in writing another evil what-if fic, wherein Genis is swayed to Mithos' view of world-saving, as he is so clearly borderline doing in the actual canon. Followed up with--
Kay: That or the opposite, that Mithos signs up for THEIRS, but that's very difficult -- it's hard to turn around and say, "Gee, I guess I've been totally fucking things up for the last four thousand years." He's kind of at the point where he has to keep going because he's come too far to change his mind and acknowledge that everything he did was misguided.
Libek: Aww....
Kay: I wonder how I could do it. XD
Libek: Amnesia fanfic! XD
Libek: Well, my first thought was, Something makes him lose his memory, and he becomes convinced, in his 'innocent' unknowing state, that he really is who they think he is -- ah, the irony of being taken in by one's own deception! Then you can have people who know the Real Mithos to start harassing him, not understanding why he's maintaining this foolish charade even when he talks to THEM, come on we know the truth! Good disguise though! <3 and Mithos will be all WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT GRR. And then you can have him realize the whole awesome powers thing accidentally and get scared but everyone else will be all happy and impressed and he'll nervously be coaxed into being fine with it and then the ACCUSATION and the CONFUSION and the SLOW REGAINING OF MEMORIES and MORE TRAUMA YAY.
...okay, I mean, AMNESIA?
...but... she's totally daring me.
And I kinda wanna.
And there's a tantalizingly nice place in canon for it to fit into...
