Tales of Vesperia, drabbles (ii)

Some 100-word drabbles that I wrote for [community profile] tales_100 and one for [community profile] femslash100, collected here. All Tales of Vesperia.

New Moon Night (Belius: candlelight)
Belius wakes to blackness. There is no moon, and few stars. A perfect night.

Night was always her favorite time, cool, still, calm. A reprieve, especially living among humans: frenetic, short-lived creatures always in motion. Like all of Elucifur's friends, she finds it endearing, and also strange and foreign.

Belius pads into her outer chamber to light her candles, the ones that will let the humans see her as one of their own. They would fear her true form: quick minds, quick hands, quick weapons, quick judgments.

Elucifur's friends have been burned by humans, but they cannot stay away, either.

Where He Last Stood (Yuri+Judith: from a great height)
Judith came to search, but not to worry. She sat with Repede on the edge of Zaude's vast roof, legs dangling over the edge, looking calmly out over a seemingly-unending ocean.

Zaude was an interesting place.

Yuri wasn't the kind of man who died without a whimper. He would go out in a great bang or not at all, living forever, immortal. She had every expectation that he would find them when he was ready.

And if she looked up at the sky at night and her eyes sought out the brightest star, it was only out of long habit.

Toy World (Yuri, from a great height)
They swept high into the sky on the dragon's back, the silent white figure in front of him quiet, fixed on their destination. Yuri, too, was focused on their goal, but he couldn't help also sparing a glance down below them, at the green forest studding the landscape, melting into rolling desert dunes, obscured by dark clouds that they soared high above.

It was stunningly beautiful. The whole world stretched below him, at his fingertips; as if he could fly anywhere with only a word.

And Yuri couldn't help thinking, I bet he's never seen the world like this, grinning.

All Heart (Raven: bare skin)
It wasn't something he could explain to a bunch of kids, but old Raven had been with more people than he could count. Women, men, subordinates, superiors, strangers... For a long time he had thought that meaningless fornication would be a betrayal of her memory, and then for a long time after that, he had wondered if he could drown in it until he felt alive again.

He played to their expectations anyway. The dirty old man, grabbing at everything in a skirt, drooling over a little leg or impressive cleavage.

But skin didn't do much for old Raven anymore.

Flower Blooming (Estelle/Flynn: bare skin)
He's used to seeing her as a modest flower, covered from heel to throat in graceful cloth designed to both flatter and shroud.

Flynn isn't prepared for Estelle in a semi-translucent yellow negligee, isn't prepared for the aggressive Estelle who straddles his waist with the flimsy cloth covering nothing, just smooth skin of her thighs stretching up, and up...

"L--Lady Estellise," he chokes.

"Don't say anything." Her face is flushed, with embarrassment or excitement. She adds, rueful, "I'm... trying to be sexy for you."

'Try' was a strange word, he would have thought, if he had even understood the words.

Ask and Receive (Judith/Estelle: sweet)
Judith thought a lot of things were sweet, Estelle decided.

When Estelle worried about Judith's exposed... skin being potentially dangerous, she said, "Aww, how sweet," and smiled.

When Estelle realized men were ogling Judith and confronted them about it angrily, Judith said, "Aww, how sweet," as if it hadn't bothered her at all.

When Estelle couldn't take it anymore, burst, "I can't stop looking at you and I don't think it's just jealousy because of your amazing body! I-- I think I want to touch you!" and stood there, mortified, Judith smiled.

She said, "That's so sweet, Estelle."

And beckoned.
